We are delighted to announce that Nicko Waymouth has joined Matthews Law as a Senior Associate. Nicko is one of New Zealand’s most experienced competition (antitrust) lawyers, with particular expertise in mergers, cartel work and consumer protection/marketing law. He has been ranked as an “Associate to watch” in leading lawyers directory Chambers Asia-Pacific since 2012.
Nicko is experienced in dealing with the New Zealand Commerce Commission (NZCC), and has been involved in a wide range of industries (including aviation, health, dairy, and building supplies). His merger work includes acting on the NZCC clearances for Hirepool to acquire Hirequip, CSR & Brickworks’ formation of a brick supply joint venture, and the merger of Southern Cross Health Trust and QE Health’s Rotorua hospitals.
Nicko joins Matthews Law from trans-Tasman firm Minter Ellison Rudd Watts where he had previously worked with Andy Matthews and Gus Stewart of Matthews Law.
