Mariam Rasheed is a Lawyer at Matthews Law who joined the firm in 2024. Mariam is responsible for assisting the partners on the full spectrum of competition and consumer law matters.

Mariam studied an LLB/BCom majoring in Economics at Victoria University of Wellington. She previously worked as a Litigation Solicitor at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), where she acted as counsel for Ministry clients in a diverse range of matters. She also has experience working at the New Zealand Treasury and Motu Economic and Public Policy Research.

Mariam has a strong sense of community and has previously served as the President of the Fijian Students’ Association and co-President of the Pasifika Law Students’ Society at Victoria University of Wellington.
